Large beetle, about 2 cm in length, the odd thing being that when I first saw it it was in the mouth of a small (about 3 inches long) Copper-tailed Skink, but when that saw me it dropped the beetle and scuttled off. The beetle then tried to bury itself, without success.
Female. Lucky cockroach! ;) I have been seeing a lot of these lately in the leaf and grass litter as we are doing a major revegetation planting. I am so behind with my sightings now! Keep an eye out for the male, which has wings. I think they are quite pretty. Cheers, Sandra
