Yes, it is living in a dam and was photographed at the GPS location nearby. I typed that in an additional information field but it got buried near the bottom of the screen.
The short antennae exclude Orthoptera, Its glistening appearance suggest its aquatic. Could it be a dragongfly nymph. I will change it to Odonata so the appropriate moderator can look at it.
I looked up Paul Whitingdon's original description for his specimenss from Wonboyn and agree that this is the most likely ID, although I don't have the Johns and Rentz key available.
